FORMAT is committed to sustainable festival practices in the field, behind the scenes, and through the preservation of the natural environment of Northwest Arkansas. This commitment is integrated into every area of the festival from recycling and composting to eco-friendly and reusable service items, and Hydration Stations that provide patrons with free, filtered water, diverting thousands of plastic bottles from the landfill.
Reusable cups
We're teaming up with TURN to help tackle the problem of single-use plastic waste. Fans can support sustainability at FORMAT and return their cup for the chance to win exclusive prizes, like VIP Ticket upgrades, festival cash, and more! To get started, fans can register their wristband with TURN at customer.turnus.in/link-events/wristband or via the QR code onsite.
At the festival, return cups to any of the collection bins. If selected as a winner, they'll receive a text with details on how to redeem their reward at the phone number registered on their wristband.
Rock & Recycle
We invite attendees to join our sustainability efforts to reduce the festival’s impact on the environment by participating in recycling initiatives such as Rock and Recycle, where fans can earn a commemorative FORMAT t-shirt designed by Tyson by filling up a bag of aluminum cans from the festival grounds.
Water refill stations
Our water refill stations provide patrons with free, filtered water, diverting thousands of plastic bottles from the landfill. Fans are encouraged to bring an EMPTY, refillable water bottle to help reduce plastic waste and to show their commitment by tagging #BYOBottle in their FORMAT photos. Stay hydrated while having fun at the festival, all while saving the planet!
Divert it!
Help Reduce Waste with Food Loops
Food Loops is excited to support FORMAT’s efforts to build a more sustainable music industry at the festival through the Divert It! Composting program. While onsite, be sure to use the proper bins to dispose of your waste, recyclables, reusables, and compostable products at the festival.
Canned beverages
Liquid death
This year, it’s death to plastic with stone-cold tallboys of Liquid Death in infinitely recyclable aluminum cans. Don’t be scared. It’s just water.
Rambler
It’s not just water - it’s America’s favorite sparkling water, with only the finest minerals added for taste. Made here and enjoyed here. Packaged in infinitely recyclable aluminum cans and proudly supporting American Rivers. Get ramblin’. Ramblers do it better.
Biking to the festival
There is also secure bike parking located on-site at The HUB and at Memorial Park. At Memorial Park, bikers will be able to lock their bikes at a dedicated lot located steps away from the shuttle pick-up and drop-off point and hop on the shuttle to the festival. We recommend this option for less experienced bikers. We also partnered with local businesses and organizations in Bentonville to put together bike rides to and from the festival each day.
